Gaye M. Grossman started her career in art in 1989 custom painting clothing, furniture and murals for children. This included fine art portraiture and interior decorative painting and finishes for homes and businesses in Manhattan, Long Island, Westchester and Connecticut.

While completing many commissions that included botanical subjects she realized how much she enjoyed understanding and accurately depicting the design of the flowers themselves. From there it seemed only natural to focus on drawing and painting flowers and plants full time.

Gaye earned a Certificate with Honors in Botanical Illustration at the New York Botanical Garden in 2019 and was invited into the Society of Botanical Artists as a Fellow the same year.
